In Dahab you can find dozens of diving centres. Most of them are attached to a Hotel or a Camp. After some years of laissez-faire mentality and a lot of diving-accidents, Dahab is now well-known as a very safe place to dive. Since 1999 all recreational diving has been regulated so that all divers must be accompanied by a professional, experienced guide. You can find divecenters throughout the whole Dahab-Dealta: From the outer south and Blue Laguna over central Mashraba and Masbat to the northern parts.

Dahab City Dahab City is the southern part of Dahab. Along the sandy blue laguna you will find the most beautiful (and expensive) hotels of Dahab, including Hilton or Iberotel Dahabeya. Nearly all surf-activities are centered in this area. In Dahab-City you find as well nearly all official buildings like central bus-station, postal office, city-offices and the main bank.
Mashraba Mashraba is the south-west part of Dahab with a long beach, nice hotels with western standard, and some restaurants. Its a beautiful, very quiet and relaxing area.
Seafront ("Masbat") The seafront or "masbat" is the place where the first tourists arrived to enjoy the beautiful beach. Its still the pittoresque centre of the town - here you will find the best and colourful restaurants, cheap hotels and nearly all of the traditional "camps".
Assala Assala is the old bedouin village in the northern parts of the Delta. Most of the local bedouin and egyptian inhabitants live here.
Eel Garden The northern coast of Dahab is called Eel Garden, named from the famous divespot nearby. You will find a nice mixture of modern and traditional hotels and restaurants. Life is very quiet and relaxing there, with a natural beach after the end of the promenade at the divesport Eel Garden.
North Dahab In the northern parts of Dahab you will find a natural coastline and some quiet Hotels and Diving Resorts. Some of the most famous divespots are located in this area, like the Canyons and Blue Hole.
- Compare the prices: some diving-centers start with unreasonable prices - Do you want to go for PADI (www.padi.com) or CMAS (www.cmas.com)? - Ask for the experience and educational level of the diving team - Are the teaching-books included? - Which languages are offered? - Is the equipment in good condition? - how big is the group? (more than 4 people is too much) - how long are the courses? (Open Water is minimum 3-4 days, a course in 2 days is not professional)
